Support snow and ice control communications from Sydney River as a Baseperson I with accurate logs, dispatch coordination, and radio contact.

This temporary backfill with Nova Scotia Public Works supports the effective movement of people, materials, and equipment. The successful candidate records winter operations, updates 511, responds to inquiries, and assists supervisors with maintenance activities. The assignment is based in Zone 1.

Key Responsibilities:

- Record operator hours, material payloads, weather, and equipment status
- Update 511 regularly with current road conditions
- Dispatch equipment operators to assigned plow routes
- Provide information using radio and AVL monitoring
- Perform base organization and light janitorial duties

Requirements:

- Two years of dispatch or customer experience
- Acceptable equivalent education and experience may qualify
- Familiarity with local geography and emergency response situations
- Accuracy, mathematical aptitude, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service focus
