Island Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner skilled in diagnosis, medication prescribing, and interdisciplinary collaboration for regular full time clinical practice.

This Nurse Practitioner provides accountable care across patient, client, and resident populations. The position assesses health findings, diagnoses conditions, initiates treatment, and prescribes medications under applicable standards, limits, conditions, policies, and guidelines. Collaboration with physicians, social workers, nursing staff, families, and other professionals supports appropriate referrals and coordinated care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Communicate diagnoses, treatment, self-care, and prognosis
- Consult with physicians and other health professionals




- Develop evidence-based population health strategies
- Plan prevention and health promotion initiatives
- Teach, coach, mentor, and supervise others

Requirements:

- BC College of Nurses and Midwives practicing NP registration
- Two years of recent relevant clinical nursing experience
- Ability to assess and evaluate research literature
- Ability to recognize population health trends
- Ability to address legal and ethical care issues
