Optimize engineered VLP production in yeast through bioreactor runs and process-variable testing. Apply rigorous bench skills to improve yields and recovery.
As a senior research associate, you will test growth media, induction strategy, temperature, harvest time, and related variables. You will run yeast expression in shake flasks and small-scale bioreactors. The work includes purification, concentration, routine QC, stability screening, and troubleshooting across production workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize media, induction, temperature, and harvest conditions
- Run shake-flask and small-scale bioreactor production
- Perform harvest, lysis, clarification, and purification workflows
- Evaluate particle assembly, purity, aggregation, and RNA integrity
- Troubleshoot yield, recovery, stability, and QC inconsistencies
Requirements:
- BSc or MS in biochemistry, biotechnology, or related discipline
- Experience expressing biological products in yeast or microbes
- Experience with small-scale fermentation or bioreactor runs
- Working knowledge of SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, qPCR, HPLC/SEC, or DLS
- Accurate technique and reproducible execution of small experiments
Use yeast bioprocessing, purification, and analytical QC expertise to improve engineered VLP production and particle quality.
