Financial Analyst, Service Operations (Contract)

Location: Calgary, AB

Term: 6-Month Contract (potential for extension or long-term opportunity)

Schedule: On-site, Monday-Friday

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to support service operations within a large industrial and mining-focused environment. This role will partner closely with operational leaders to analyze labour utilization, cost recovery, profitability, and key performance drivers across field service operations.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis skills with experience supporting service, maintenance, or mine-site operations. You understand how labour-driven businesses generate revenue and can translate complex financial data into meaningful business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze labour costs, overtime, utilization, and billing recovery performance.
- Monitor and report on labour recovery, productivity, and operational KPIs.
- Evaluate profitability drivers and identify opportunities to improve margins.
- Assess the financial impact of workforce scheduling, shift rotations, and service delivery models.
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and financial models using Power BI and ERP systems.
- Partner with operations leaders to provide insights and support decision-making.
- Present findings and recommendations to managers, directors, and senior leadership.
- Track trends and performance metrics related to equipment availability, utilization, and service operations.

Qualifications

Must-Have

- 5-10 years of experience in Financial Analysis, FP&A;, Operational Finance, or Business Finance.
- Experience supporting a service, maintenance, industrial, mining,



or oil & gas environment.
- Robust understanding of labour billing, cost recovery, utilization, and operational performance metrics.
- Experience analyzing operating-site KPIs such as equipment availability, utilization, repair cycles, or productivity metrics.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including building complex dashboards and reports.
- Experience using large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Infor M3, or similar.
- Strong communication and business partnering skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Nice To Have

- CPA/CMA designation or progress toward designation.
- Experience supporting mining, oil sands, or heavy industrial operations.
- Infor M3 experience.
- Experience working directly with site operations teams.

Job Type & Location

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.





Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
