Operate heavy machinery outdoors for the Town of Strathmore while maintaining roads, sidewalks, storm systems, and public infrastructure. This full time term position runs up to one year.

Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the Public Works Operator supports the Operations Department with strategic and hands-on municipal services. Duties include operating graders, loaders, excavators, plow trucks, and other equipment. The position also covers road maintenance, excavation, winter operations, traffic control, and storm network upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate light and heavy maintenance equipment and tools
- Grade gravel roads and alleys throughout Strathmore
- Perform snow plowing and sanding on Town roads
- Maintain sidewalks, curbs, gutters, asphalt, and walkways
- Complete excavation, trenching, finishing, and drainage work

Requirements:

- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Class 3Q Alberta Driver’s Licence and clean abstract
- Experience operating equipment during winter conditions
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
