Support K-9 student well-being as a Temporary School Counsellor with School District 71, providing counselling and mental health services.

This 1.0 FTE temporary position supports social-emotional development within an inclusive educational setting. You will provide prevention, intervention, consultation, and counselling services while collaborating with students, families, school teams, and community partners. Responsibilities may focus on elementary, middle, or K-9 students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide short-term, solution-focused individual and group counselling
- Support anxiety, self-regulation, relationships, and school engagement
- Conduct risk assessments and support safety planning




- Coordinate referrals with community and mental health agencies
- Maintain case notes and professional documentation

Requirements:

- Master's degree with a 300-hour supervised school practicum
- Valid British Columbia Teaching Certificate
- Successful elementary or middle years teaching experience
- Training or experience counselling children and youth
- Trauma-informed and mental health promotion experience
