Precision machining supports Acuren’s Cambridge Materials Testing Laboratory, using manual or CNC equipment to prepare test specimens and fixtures. This is a full time, on-site opportunity.

As a Machinist I, you will machine tensile bars, impact specimens, weld coupons, and other components to specification. The work involves reading engineering drawings, operating lathes and mills, and inspecting finished parts. You will follow testing procedures, quality requirements, and safety processes while supporting laboratory projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Machine test specimens to specified dimensions and tolerances
- Read engineering drawings, standards, and test procedures
- Set up and operate manual or CNC equipment
- Inspect completed work using precision measuring tools




- Maintain records and support laboratory project deadlines

Requirements:

- Machinist certification or apprenticeship is an asset
- Experience with CNC or manual machining equipment
- Ability to read drawings and use measuring instruments
- Experience machining metals to ASTM, ISO, or similar standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime
