Start your estimating career with PCL’s Canadian Industrial Division in Edmonton, contributing to bid preparation, purchasing quantities, and trade coordination.

This Estimating Student opportunity is an eight-month placement beginning January 2027. Reporting directly to a lead estimator, you will learn PCL’s estimating processes and support project work through bid document control, bid day assignments, and quantity review. The role is designed for engineering students with mechanical or civil majors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Use PCL estimating manuals, systems, and forms
- Review and transfer quantities with the lead estimator
- Submit major purchase quantities to purchasing for pricing
- Perform general subtrade solicitation duties




- Visit job sites periodically and build contractor relationships

Requirements:

- Pursuing a mechanical or civil engineering degree or diploma
- Desire to work in a construction workplace
- Prior field construction experience considered an asset
- Microsoft Suite required; AutoCAD and Bluebeam knowledge beneficial
- Self-motivated approach to professional development
