Prepare meals and nourish residents as a Food Service Worker with The Salvation Army. Apply food safety practices in a kitchen setting.

This Food Service Worker prepares specials, nourishments, meals, and desserts for residents. The position includes secure food transport, portioning, storage, serving, and dining-area care. You will also maintain supplies, complete records, and support daily food services meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare specials according to tally lists and prepare nourishments
• Transport hot and cold food safely between kitchen and dining room
• Serve residents using resident profile information
• Portion, wrap, and store meals, desserts,
  
  
  
  and dietary meals
• Clean dining areas and food service equipment

Requirements:

• High school completion or acceptable equivalent education and experience
• Food Safe Level 1 and WHMIS
• Up to one year of related institutional kitchen experience
• Understanding of food safety practices and excellent time management
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds and work weekends
