Staff Mechanical Engineer, NPI – San Jose, CAThis position reports to the Sr. Director, Reliability Engineering and will be based in San Jose, CA with approximately 30% travel.ResponsibilitiesManage new NPI project transfers to Bloom Manufacturing and CM's.Communicate clearly and professionally with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.Work with product development to provide Design For Manufacturing (DFM) design and final testing improvements.Develop, manage and update process PFMEAs for new or modified processes and equipment.Develop part and assembly drawings, SolidWorks CAD models, and ePDM documentation.Design tools and test fixtures for plumbing/mechanical assemblies.Lead the mechanical team.Perform failure analysis of components and recommend preventative or corrective actions.Develop work instructions and document new products/tests, product design improvements, and process improvements.Work with suppliers to generate process check requirements and tools.Generate and release part/assembly drawings and Bill of Materials into the PLM system.Train manufacturing personnel on assembly, test processes, and test equipment.Qualifications and Experience5-6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or New Product Introduction.Experience working in oil and gas, energy and power, pharmaceutical production, chemical processing, large capital equipment, or a related industry.Knowledge of fuel cell systems is a plus but is not required.Design and fabrication of hardware utilizing sheet metal, machined parts, casting,



and welding.Experience with plumbing and tubing.Development of drawings using SolidWorks and ePDM.Ability to independently manage projects.Experience in rapid scale‑up of new products and/or operations.Hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills; excellent bench/lab skills with mechanical components.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work independently in a rapid‑paced start‑up environment.BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Knowledge of electrical assemblies is a plus.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $134,500.00 – $193,500.00.
