Apply road construction and winter operations skills with the Region of Waterloo, maintaining roads, bridges, drainage systems, and regional rights-of-way.

This temporary full time position combines road building, surveying, infrastructure restoration, and seasonal snow and ice control. You will operate trucks and specialized equipment, support traffic control, maintain roadside assets, and respond to assigned maintenance needs. Work is based at 100 Maple Grove Rd, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule and variable hours or on-call duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform excavations, road beds, side slopes, ditches, and line-grade work
- Install culverts, gabion walls, stream liners, and drainage sewers
- Operate snowplows, wheel loaders, water tankers, and ancillary equipment




- Set up traffic control plans and support roadway construction surveys
- Remove roadside debris, trees, brush, and dead animals

Requirements:

- Grade 10 plus three years directly related experience
- Valid Class D licence with Z endorsement and acceptable record
- Ability to follow Ontario Traffic Manual and Highway Traffic Act requirements
- Computer skills using work management and Microsoft Office software
- Availability for weekends, nights, holidays, and emergency callouts
