We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and experienced Home Support Worker / Caregiver to join our family on a live-out, part-time basis in Vancouver (approx. 6–10 hours per week to start, with flexible scheduling).This role is designed to support my parents in their home. My father is living with Parkinson's disease, and my mother acts as his primary daily caregiver. Our primary goal is to take physical tasks off my mother's plate, help keep the home organized, and provide companion support as my father's health needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

- Light Housekeeping & Maintenance: General tidying, kitchen reset (dishes, counter cleanup), laundry, vacuuming, and keeping main walking pathways clear and safe.
- Meal Prep & Light Cooking: Helping prepare nutritious meals or batch-prep ingredients for the week.
- Caregiver Respite & Companionship: Providing engaging, patient companion care for my dad so my mom can step out for appointments, rest, or run errands without worry.
- Mobility & Safety Support: Assisting with safe transfers and mobility around the home, keeping an eye out for fall hazards.
- Personal Care (As Needed): Occasional light support with daily activities as his Parkinson's progresses.





Skills & Qualifications Required

- Parkinson's or Neurological Experience: Prior experience supporting individuals with Parkinson's disease or mobility challenges is strongly preferred.
- Patience & Compassion: Excellent communication skills with a calm, respectful demeanor toward seniors.
- Clean Record & References: Valid Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Screening) and verifiable professional/caregiving references.
- First Aid / CPR: Current First Aid & CPR (Level C) certification.
- Registration (Asset): B.C. Care Aide Registry number or formal HCA/PCA training is an asset, but relevant hands‑on experience is highly valued.

Compensation & Hours

- Pay Rate: $30 / hour
- Schedule: Part‑time, live‑out (e.g., 2–3 mornings or afternoons a week; exact days are adaptable and open for discussion).
