Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient
- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Reporting to, and under the general direction of the Director of Financial Reporting, the Manager of Accounting is responsible for:Management of the accounting staff under their direction. The Manager oversees the accounting activity and management of the financial period closes for month-end and year-end reporting, ensuring policies, procedures and accounting standards are adhered to.
Key focus on effective financial reporting by reviewing financial reports, account reconciliations and analysis, and following up on items identified, along with establishing appropriate internal controls.monitoring, measuring, and reporting on operational and financial reporting issues and opportunities; Manages the human resources of the Accounting Department to include: setting work objectives; orientating and training staff; conducting performance appraisals and addressing other human resource matters as required.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively senior management and leadership experience, preferably in a public sector setting.
A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experienceExperience with financial management and administration in a healthcare environment.
Experience with public sector accounting and MIS reporting requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline is required.
Graduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration,



Healthcare Administration or a related discipline would be an asset.
Knowledge of enterprise resource system (SAP) (FI/CO/FM/MM/HCM/HW) an asset.
Knowledge of CPA Canada Public Accounting Sector Accounting Standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Knowledge of Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) standards Management Information Systems (MIS).
Knowledge of internal control guidelines and procedures.
Knowledge of Planning and Budgeting processes.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to communicate with multiple internal and external stakeholders within a large, complex public sector environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language.
Customer service focused attitude.
