This includes diagnosis of causes of breakdowns, removal, replacement, and installation of various components. Working knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, motors & motor controls, relays, and transformers is required. This position provides services for the production operators who use this equipment to perform their work. This position requires good communication skills, understanding and commitment to the team effort, flexibility, and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.Located in the Oakville/Mississauga area, this unionized position provides a competitive salary and benefits package.



Shift work will be required for this position.What you'll be contributing:Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.Keep electrical equipment operating efficientlyInstall current electrical equipment as requiredPreventative maintenance inspections on assigned equipment and complete accurate reportsRemoval and Replacement of electrical equipmentRepair and troubleshoot damaged or faulty electrical equipmentReport any deficiencies to the supervisorHousekeeping duties as assignedOther duties as assigned when not required under normal classificationAdditional duties as assigned by supervisor.To succeed in this position, you will need:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Post-Secondary education is an assetValid Electrical Certificate of Qualification (309A or 442A)Proof of ApprenticeshipExperience working with outside vendors and outsourced contractorsWorking knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, motors & motor controls, relays, and transformers is requiredBasic understanding of manufacturing operationsWorking knowledge of related maintenance and repair practicesValid Drivers LicenceAbility to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.Physically able to climb ladders and scaffolds and work upon platformsSkill Requirements:The Electrician must have the ability to perform the following functions:Read and interpret schematic and construction wire drawingsProgram, troubleshoot and monitor PLC systems and equipment control schemesOverhaul and troubleshoot switch gearsInstall and maintain electrical wiring, conduits, cable trays, etcInstall, troubleshoot and calibrate instrumentationUnderstand and troubleshoot different types of relays, their applicationMaintain, test and troubleshoot transformersIdentify and correct problems with motors,
