Support Indigenous learners through culturally based liaison work, trauma-sensitive practices, and relationship building in Mission Public Schools. This schedule runs 35 hours weekly from September through June.

The Indigenous Liaison Worker serves learners through the Siwal Si’wes Indigenous Education Department under district and school-based supervision. The work connects homes and schools while supporting social-emotional learning, healthy living, outreach, academics, tutoring, and transitions. The position requires collaboration with families, educators, administrators, counselors, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advocate for equity and Indigenous learner well-being
- Provide classroom, individual, and small-group student support




- Document confidential learner information and progress
- Develop cultural activities, presentations, and resources
- Coordinate with families, schools, communities, and agencies

Requirements:

- Completion of grade 12
- Post-secondary Indigenous studies or related program
- At least two years supporting Indigenous children and youth
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and value systems
- Valid British Columbia driver's licence and vehicle
