Lead municipal finance for the District of Fort St. James, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and long-term planning. This is permanent full-time work.

As Chief Financial Officer, you will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and serve on the senior leadership team. The position oversees asset management, taxation, payroll, procurement, regulatory compliance, financial analysis, risk management advice, and strategic recommendations. Your work supports informed Council decisions, fiscal sustainability, accountability, and municipal services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead all municipal financial operations and strategic financial oversight
- Direct budgeting, reporting, planning, and asset management
- Oversee taxation, payroll, procurement, and regulatory compliance




- Advise Council and management through financial analysis
- Provide risk management advice and strategic recommendations

Requirements:

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CPA designation and five years of experience
- Local government finance experience with supervisory responsibilities
- Solid leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency and evening Council meeting availability
