Assess complex commercial risks at Intact using advanced underwriting judgment, broker collaboration, and a hybrid work model in Vancouver or Victoria.

As a Commercial Lines Senior Underwriter, you will support Canada’s largest P&C; insurer through risk evaluation, pricing strategies, and broker service. The permanent full-time position requires at least two days weekly in your assigned office. You will handle quotes, renewals, endorsements, and policy changes while applying underwriting authority limits. Your work will also support profitable business, robust partnerships, and regional service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluate moderate to complex commercial risks and recommend solutions
- Quote, negotiate, sell, and authorize business within authority




- Build meaningful broker relationships through service and field activities
- Coach team members on technical underwriting knowledge
- Improve workflows, efficiency, and Commercial Lines practices

Requirements:

- Five to seven years of commercial lines underwriting experience
- Ability to handle complex risks and competing priorities
- Strong negotiation, communication, and customer service skills
- Current knowledge of Commercial Underwriting Guides and instructions
- Eligibility to work in Canada; CIP designation preferred
