You like precise, hands-on work and want to master a craft. Learn CNC machining in a fast-growing Toronto shop.
A young Toronto manufacturer makes precision parts for technology, aerospace, robotics and medical-device customers. Its engineers build their own tools to make the shop faster. You'll be trained in-house: first you master one CNC operation, then you move on to more complex work, growing toward producing parts on your own.
They're hiring 5 junior machinists.
What you'll own
- Running your assigned CNC operation accurately and reliably
- Learning step by step toward more complex parts
- Quality: parts that match the drawing every time
- Your shop-floor input reaches the engineers who build the tools directly
Must-haves
- Machining training at a college or trade school, or experience in construction or another trade you want to leave for machining, with a year or more of work behind you
- Comfortable with hands-on,
physical and sometimes dirty shop work
- Working in person in Toronto five days a week, within commuting distance, including assigned day, night or weekend shifts
- Already allowed to work in Canada; sponsorship isn't available
Bonus points
- Some CNC experience, even basic
- A practical skill you learned quickly through persistence
- A teacher or instructor who can give you a reference
What's in it for you
- CAD $60k-$80k base
- Paid training on the job in a growing shop
- Medical, dental and mental-health coverage
Positive to know
- Full-time, on-site in Toronto, shift work
- Process: 30-minute screen -> one-hour technical interview (machining basics, reading 3D models and 2D drawings) -> paid part-time trial of up to a week (planned around a current job if needed) -> offer
