Our enterprise retail client is seeking aSenior Strategic Business Analyst to support a program focused on modernizing business processes, applications, data, and technology capabilities.

Duration: 6-month initial contract with a possibility of extension or conversion

Working model: Hybrid onsite within South Calgary - 3 days onsite

Must-haves:

- 8+ years' of Business Analysis experience, including significant experience on business transformation, process improvement, or on complex enterprise initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale, multi-year business and technology transformation programs.
- Robust experience instrategy analysis, business capability analysis, process modelling, requirements engineering, stakeholder analysis, and solution evaluation.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as ERP or other packaged/SaaS business applications, including fit-gap and configuration-versus-customization decisions.
- Experience defining business outcomes, benefits, measures, and traceability from strategy through delivery.
- Strong workshop facilitation, executive communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Practical experience with common modelling and analysis techniques such as BPMN, capability mapping, value-stream mapping, journey mapping, use cases/user stories, decision tables, and root-cause analysis.

Nice-to-haves:

- Retail or consumer industry experience.




- Experience modernizing legacy or custom-developed applications and the business processes surrounding them.
- Experience operating in environments with a mix of SaaS, packaged, custom-built, and legacy applications - including enterprise integration initiatives.
- Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN, product management, or change-management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Translate strategic objectives and program outcomes into business capabilities, value streams, initiative scope, and prioritized business needs.
- Connect analysis across initiatives so decisions are made with an enterprise perspective rather than project-by-project.
- Support investment and sequencing decisions by clarifying expected value, dependencies, organizational impacts, and trade-offs.
- Lead discovery with business leaders, subject matter experts, frontline users, and process owners to understand current-state processes, pain points, controls, hand-offs, and root causes.
- Develop process models, journey or value-stream views, business rules, and clear definitions of roles and decision rights where required.
- Maintain end-to-end traceability from business outcomes and capabilities through requirements, solution decisions, testing, readiness, and benefits.
- Support fit-gap analysis for packaged and SaaS platforms, distinguishing configuration, process change, integration, extension, and true customization needs.
- Plan and facilitate workshops, interviews, working sessions, and decision forums involving executives, business teams, delivery teams, and vendors.
