El Toastador in Bayview industrial Supply O/A Ripley Creek Inn is seeking a passionate and inspiring permanent full time Head Chef to plan and direct our Latin Kitchen for food preparation activities, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure outstanding dining experiences. Rooted in family tradition and authentic recipes, our 70 seat restaurant operates six days a week from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., serving true Mexican culinary excellence with a dedicated team of 10 staff members. We offer an exceptional cocktails and mocktails including wine and beers. At El Toastador ’s, it’s all about family, food & friends.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Plan, organize and oversee all food and culinary preparations
- Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items and make requisitions for all
- Maintain records of food costs, consumption,



sales and inventory
- Create menus, develop and introduce recent recipes
- Ensures that all dishes consistently meet established quality standards
- Recruit, hire and train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
- Prepare and cook dishes for customers, including specialty items for special events as well as for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Coordinate the procurement of kitchen equipment and oversee maintenance and repair arrangements

The ideal candidate will posses a cook’s certificate or diploma or equivalent. They have 3–5 years of experience as a chef, along with at least 2 years of supervisory experience. Language of work/ communication at work will be in English.
