Build Modaxo’s enterprise AI platform remotely from Canada, Poland, or Germany using backend services, APIs, and distributed systems expertise.

As a Backend Engineer, you will create core services supporting Modaxo’s people transportation products. You will work with a small founding team on APIs, orchestration, access control, and integration. The work combines reusable platform capability with product delivery and customer-validated outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design reliable backend APIs and orchestration services
- Shape platform architecture and developer experience
- Build multi-tenant infrastructure with isolation and metering
- Own deployment, testing, operations, and on-call
- Measure impact and automate quality gates

Requirements:

- Production experience with distributed backend services
- End-to-end ownership of correctness, tests, and operations
- Transparent communication with engineers, products, and customers
- Pragmatic trade-off reasoning focused on outcomes
- Strength in C#/.NET or Python preferred
