Do you enjoy turning concepts into practical solutions that account for fabrication requirements and construction realities?At DPHV, we are looking for a Structural Engineer specializing in connection design who understands the challenges of heavy steel fabrication and thrives on the technical complexities of structural erection, including temporary works and lifting operations.This position is based in our Terrebonne office (300 Henry-Bessemer Street) or our Laval Office (549 Principale Street) according candidate preference.Your RoleAs a member of our team, you will:Design optimized steel connections for large and complex steel structuresProvide technical support to steel fabricators, including fabrication engineering and sequencing of complex assembliesDevelop creative solutions that reduce costs and improve constructability and performanceParticipate in technical coordination with fabrication shops and construction teamsContribute to the development of steel erection sequencesDesign temporary stability and bracing systems required during constructionDesign and verify lifting devices and rigging solutions used for structural erectionWhat We're Looking ForStrong interest in structural design and engineering analysisIntellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for solving complex technical challengesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsFluency in French, both spoken and written (required)Strong command of English, both spoken and written (required to support clients in the United States)QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or Construction Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering (advanced steel design coursework required)Master's degree in Structural Engineering (an asset)Consulting engineering experience is considered an asset; responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate's experience levelProficiency with SAP2000Why DPHV?For more than 30 years, DPHV has specialized in structural engineering consulting.
