This Senior Director leads architecture across AI systems supporting RBC Technology & Operations. You will define shared platforms for ingestion, embeddings, retrieval, reranking, evaluation, inference, and model routing. The mandate includes cost, risk, jurisdiction, data classification, and residency controls enforced through platform architecture.
Key Responsibilities: Build the common RAG substrate and retirement plan
Design model gateway and inference architecture
Enforce metering, caching, and data-classification rules
Define deterministic tests, scans, and fitness checks
Re-run evaluations before model upgrades reach teams
Requirements: 15+ years of architecture or engineering experience
Enterprise leadership experience spanning architects or engineers
LLM systems experience across cloud and on-premises GPUs
Solid DevSecOps and SDLC background
Ability to prototype, read code, and explain trade-offs
Bring platform architecture leadership to RBC’s RAG, inference, evaluation, and AI-DLC standards in Toronto.
