Own electrical engineering for battery energy storage systems at Mapleview Energy, designing power conversion and protection across Southern Ontario. Site attendance is required.
As Mapleview’s first dedicated electrical engineer, you will own systems from site assessment through energization and handover. You will work with a battery integration engineer on repurposed EV battery systems for commercial and industrial customers. Your work spans AC/DC distribution, protection, switching, commissioning, documentation, and field execution.
Key Responsibilities: Assess sites, loads, customer needs, and utility requirements
Calculate conductor sizing, voltage drop, fault current, and protection coordination
Design distribution, switching, metering, E-stops, and safety interlocks
Specify equipment and prepare BOMs,



procurement specifications, and construction packages
Lead testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical handover
Requirements: Electrical engineering degree; P.Eng. is an asset
Experience with BESS, solar PV, UPS, microgrids, or inverter systems
Understanding of AC/DC distribution, grounding, protection, and switching
Experience testing, troubleshooting, and safely energizing equipment
Familiarity with OESC, CSA requirements, and utility interconnection
Bring electrical design, commissioning, and field leadership to Mapleview’s repurposed battery systems across Ontario.
