As Senior Lead Software Engineer, you will define technical direction for Core Payment Systems supporting global transaction infrastructure. The role combines leadership with hands-on engineering across microservices, messaging, containers, databases, and zero-disruption delivery. You will also integrate AI-powered developer tools and AI/ML capabilities into production payment workflows.
Key Responsibilities: Guide cross-functional engineers through technical delivery
Integrate AI-powered tools into development workflows
Apply anomaly detection and intelligent test generation
Establish distributed tracing, alerting,



and dashboards
Translate financial requirements into maintainable solutions
Requirements: Experience scaling AI-powered development tools enterprise-wide
Hands-on observability experience in microservices environments
Knowledge of Circuit Breakers and Saga orchestration
Experience designing idempotent payment APIs
Familiarity with SWIFT, ISO 20022, or settlement systems
Combine technical leadership, AI-enabled delivery, and observability expertise to advance Citi’s resilient global payment engineering systems.
