Shape Dover District’s development framework through planning policy leadership, application guidance, and infrastructure planning from the Council’s Dover offices.
This Team Leader position directs professional planning officers and technical staff across policy and projects. The work includes reviewing policy documents, applying local and national policy consistently, and advising decision-makers after the 2024 Local Plan adoption.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver and review a robust suite of planning policy documents
Provide professional advice on planning policy matters
Ensure consistent policy application in development management decisions
Secure and spend developer obligations through S106 monitoring




Advise elected members and management teams
Requirements: Positive grasp of developer contributions and strategic infrastructure
Capability to lead professional officers and technical staff
Ability to appear as Council expert witness when required
Direct staff management and resource assignment experience
Ability to contribute at Council and public meetings
Use planning policy expertise, development management guidance, and team leadership to strengthen Dover District’s planning framework.
