Manage heavy passenger rail design projects for SYSTRA Canada in Toronto, overseeing technical delivery, milestones, issues, and stakeholder coordination.
This Design Manager assignment reports to the Deputy Director, Design, within the Transit division. You will help ensure design development supports infrastructure scope and successful project execution. The work includes technical oversight, pre-construction reviews, project monitoring, risk and issue management, and coordination across operational railway environments.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee design deliverables and railway infrastructure integration
Control activities during project development and implementation
Review plans for optimal network-wide project coordination
Track milestones and communicate status to the Director




Manage investigations, corrective actions, and cost-impact contingencies
Requirements: Degree in engineering, applied science, or related discipline
At least eight years’ project management experience in heavy passenger rail
Experience planning complex multidisciplinary construction works
Experience working within operational corridors
Knowledge of railway infrastructure and construction projects
Use heavy rail project management, design oversight, and issue resolution skills to advance SYSTRA Canada transit projects.
