Own Android build infrastructure, CI/CD, and app health with Gradle, observability, and performance expertise. Support Rivian’s connected mobile products.
As the Staff Android Engineer, you will maintain the platform beneath the Rivian mobile app, RVT Mobile SDK, and Mobile Reference App. You will own builds, signing, release infrastructure, dependency management, and health metrics including startup, crashes, ANRs, jank, and battery impact. You will keep tools and libraries current.
Key Responsibilities: Own Android build, signing, and release infrastructure
Maintain CI/CD pipelines and dependency management
Track startup, size, crashes, ANRs, and jank
Lead platform incident triage and fixes
Document architecture, onboarding, and platform guidance
Requirements: Expert-level Gradle and Android build pipeline experience
Experience improving application performance and stability measurably
Experience with Crashlytics, Datadog, or similar tools
Knowledge of Android lifecycle, threading, and memory
Excellent written and spoken English
