Lead underground ground control engineering with rock mechanics expertise in a salt mine, coordinating technical professionals and engineering programs.
This autonomous Lead Ground Control Engineer reports to the Engineering and Capital Manager. You will supervise rock mechanics and geological professionals, manage capital projects, and support drilling, seismic, and geologic modeling. The position also oversees exploration, monitoring, and rehabilitation activities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead rock mechanics and geological engineering teams
Manage capital projects and associated contractors
Oversee diamond drilling, GPR, and seismic exploration programs
Coordinate ground control inspections and monitoring
Support subsidence modeling and mineral reserve estimates
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
Required Skilled Engineer designation
At least 10 years’ mining engineering experience
Specialty in rock mechanics, geology, and ground control
Underground mining experience and AutoCAD proficiency
Apply ground control, rock mechanics, and project management expertise across underground salt mining engineering programs.
