GHL Consultants, part of J.S. Held, seeks an experienced Qualified Engineer to deliver building code, fire, and life safety consulting services. You will manage projects, support clients, develop compliance strategies, and mentor junior staff across residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. The position supports projects from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities: Provide building code, fire, and life safety consulting services
Develop practical code strategies supporting project goals and compliance
Review design documents and identify code-related risks
Prepare code analyses, reports,



and alternative solutions
Manage projects, client communication, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
Five-plus years of relevant consulting or engineering experience
Alberta P.Eng. registration through APEGA or immediate eligibility
Knowledge of National Building Code Alberta Edition Parts 3 and 9
Experience preparing technical reports and compliance documentation
