Estimate underground power and utility infrastructure projects for Black & McDonald’s Alberta Utilities team, based in Leduc before relocation to Acheson. Lead complex bids.
Reporting to the Lead Estimator, the Senior Estimator prepares electrical and civil estimates and contributes to client, supplier, and stakeholder engagement. You will review subcontractor and supplier bids, coordinate technical proposal inputs, clarify scope with engineers, and represent the company at industry, client, and community events.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare conceptual budgets and accurate utility quantity take-offs
Coordinate technical proposal inputs and tender reviews
Build relationships with clients, designers, contractors, and suppliers




Liaise with engineers on feasibility studies and scope clarifications
Maintain supplier and subcontractor directories
Requirements: Seven-plus years of estimating experience in utility projects
Underground power, substation, or electrical utility background
Solid understanding of utility earthworks, concrete, and foundations
Proficiency with estimating tools and Microsoft Office applications
Valid driver’s license may be required
Use electrical utility estimating, stakeholder communication, and bid coordination skills to support Black & McDonald’s Western Utilities team.
