About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to provide executive leadership for cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, security operations, and transformation. The CISO will advise senior leaders and the Board, lead cybersecurity professionals, and translate complex risks into explicit priorities and practical action. Responsibilities include strengthening security across operational technology and connected-device environments,
developing a risk-based maturity roadmap, and establishing accountable governance and measurable remediation progress. The role also requires collaboration across technical and operational teams to embed security practices while supporting safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuity of essential services.
Candidates should bring at least 10 years of progressive cybersecurity experience, including leadership as a CISO or equivalent executive, and a strong understanding of Canadian privacy and cybersecurity requirements. Experience applying recognized security frameworks and leading security improvements in complex, highly regulated environments is required. Relevant expertise includes areas such as identity and access management, network segmentation, cloud security, incident response, and vendor risk management. A relevant bachelor’s degree and a CISSP, CISM, or comparable certification are preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
