This Registered Practical Nurse position supports medical unit patients through clinical judgment, health teaching, and theory based nursing practice. The successful candidate will work within available resources while reflecting Hospital Mission Statements and Nursing Philosophy. Care includes geriatric, chronic care, and rehabilitative patients.
Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
Provide health teaching to patients and families
Make clinical decisions using skilled nursing judgment
Participate in nursing and unit objective development
Follow occupational health and safety regulations
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Current Ontario registration in good standing
Current venipuncture or I.V. certification
Niche, Pieces, or similar geriatric nursing certification
Clinical competency caring for medical unit patients
Bring patient assessment, geriatric care, and clinical decision making to Acute Medicine Surge 1B at Sault Area Hospital.
