Operate B train truck and trailer combinations between Manitoba and Ontario, using protected driving practices, inspections, and load securement. This position involves extended time alone.
The Class 1 truck driver transports materials while following Ministry of Transportation safety protocols. Responsibilities include route planning, accurate paperwork, electronic logs, dispatch communication, and vehicle inspections. The driver reports deficiencies to the Shop Manager and reports to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities: Drive B train combinations between Manitoba and Ontario
Secure loads with appropriate equipment before departure
Inspect vehicles and report deficiencies to the Shop Manager
Check straps, chains, and tarps every two to four hours
Maintain dispatch communication through satellite, phone, and text
Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
Class 1 truck license
One to three years of Class 1 driving preferred
Knowledge of Ministry of Transportation safety protocols
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work alone
Bring professional driving, careful inspections, and securement knowledge to material transportation between Manitoba and Ontario.
