Lead public information and media relations for Minnesota’s Cannabis Management Office in St. Paul, serving audiences across a regulated industry.
This Public Information Officer supports the Communications Director with external media relations and strategic communications activities. You will write, develop, and edit content while coordinating initiatives with OCM leadership. The position also represents the agency publicly and may telework from home two days weekly.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups
Advise constituents about OCM activities and educational events
Prepare OCM staff for media interviews
Serve as spokesperson when appropriate for the office




Coordinate communications activities and media initiatives
Requirements: Three years of strategic communications, public relations, or journalism
Experience translating complex or regulatory information clearly
Experience with news media and organizational spokesperson duties
Experience organizing press conferences or media-related events
Ability to travel in-state up to 10 percent
Use media relations, public affairs, and transparent writing skills to support OCM communications across Minnesota’s cannabis industry.
