Strategic sourcing and contract expertise define this Procurement Specialist role at Alberta Blue Cross®, supporting assigned categories through practical procurement services.
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, you will coordinate renewals, execute low to medium complexity sourcing, and negotiate lower-risk agreements. The work involves vendor quotations, market research, contract terms, stakeholder guidance, and required internal reviews. You will help ensure activities meet business requirements, applicable policies, and deadlines. Material changes in scope, cost, risk, or stakeholder alignment are escalated appropriately.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate contract renewals with internal stakeholders and confirm current requirements
Execute spot buys and selected sourcing requests




Assess quotations and compare year-over-year costs
Negotiate routine agreements and contract renewals
Coordinate reviews with Legal, Risk, and Privacy
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, supply chain designation, or equivalent experience
Minimum two years in sourcing, purchasing, buying, or procurement
Knowledge of sourcing, renewals, quotations, and commercial terms
Ability to analyze financial and contractual information
Microsoft Office proficiency and procurement systems capability
