As a Web Editor/FM News, you will write and update varied CityNews stories. You will source local and breaking news, manage social channels, and support digital best practices. Accuracy, SEO, analytics, and brand standards guide your work across websites and partner content.
Key Responsibilities: Write and update diverse CityNews news stories
Source local and breaking stories for audience engagement
Verify headlines, photos, captions, video, and website material
Cross-post partner stories while maintaining SEO and brand guidelines
Collaborate with CityNews newsrooms across Canada
Requirements: Journalism degree and/or diploma
Three to five years’ breaking news experience
Experience covering local breaking news
Solid English writing and headline skills
Familiarity with Canadian Press style and libel law
Bring breaking news judgment, digital storytelling, and audience-focused editing to Rogers Sports & Media’s CityNews newsroom.
