Operate snowplows, graders, and loaders for Nova Scotia Public Works in Antigonish during a 17-week Winter Works Period. Support provincial road safety through skilled equipment operation.
The Equipment Operator works in Zone 8, maintaining roads and infrastructure through snow removal, construction, and maintenance activities. Daily responsibilities include equipment inspections, logs, traffic control, and general equipment maintenance. This is a Winter Works Period position with four opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities: Operate snowplows, graders, and loaders during winter operations
Complete pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
Maintain equipment and complete required daily logs
Assist with road repairs and general maintenance




Maintain traffic control signs and support traffic control
Requirements: Minimum Class III licence with air brake endorsement
Department-declared competence as an OPTP operator
Reading and writing comprehension for logs and reports
Flexibility and self-motivation in adverse weather conditions
Qualified approach and high standard for client service
Bring heavy equipment operation, inspection, and traffic control skills to Nova Scotia Public Works in Antigonish’s Zone 8.
