Support people experiencing homelessness with The Mustard Seed in Edmonton, leading shelter staff, volunteers, and person-centered care. The schedule includes 8-hour shifts.
This permanent part-time Shelter Team Lead role serves at Strathcona Shelter and reports to the Shelter Supervisor. You will help guests identify needs, access resources, and pursue goals while respecting boundaries. The position also requires collaboration, mentoring, crisis intervention, and ministry support.
Key Responsibilities: Support guests with dignity, flexibility, and respectful communication
Encourage access to resources and services
Enforce guest suspensions when necessary
Liaise with shelter staff and Wellness Advocates
Act as a positive ambassador of The Mustard Seed
Requirements: Passion for ending homelessness in Alberta
Experience with inner-city or less fortunate communities
Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related education valued
Ministry background considered a robust asset
Self-starter with volunteer experience
Apply leadership, compassionate communication, and crisis-support experience while advancing respectful shelter services for marginalized guests.
