The County of Elgin seeks a Dietary Aide for its 90-bed long-term care facility. You will prepare food, assist the Cook, serve meals, and maintain accurate records. The position requires sanitary practices, careful equipment cleaning, and attention to detail throughout dietary service operations.
Key Responsibilities: Complete basic food preparation for dietary department service
Assist the Cook where needed during food service
Handle food according to safety and sanitary regulations
Set and clear tables for resident meal service
Receive goods delivered to the dietary department
Requirements: Complete or enroll in a qualifying Food Service Worker program
Hold a current Food Handling Certificate
Demonstrate excellent communication skills
Show passion for serving others and quality care
Provide satisfactory Criminal Record and tuberculosis screening documentation
