This Shop QA/QC position supports Alstar Group’s fabrication shop and its oil and gas construction services. You will complete visual and dimensional inspections, maintain quality control paperwork, and record critical weld information. Candidates need CWB Level 1 Certification, two-plus years of quality control experience, a Common Safety Orientation ticket, and knowledge of ASME and CSA practices. The facility is located at 8700 Venture Ave SE and is not transit-accessible.
Key Responsibilities: Inspect welded piping through visual and dimensional checks
Examine structural steel for required fabrication quality




Record welders’ symbols, heat numbers, and radiography numbers
Complete quality control paperwork and travel sheets
Install name plates and coordinate required inspections
Requirements: Hold CWB Level 1 Certification
Bring two-plus years of previous quality control experience
Understand ASME and CSA codes and practices
Use tools and equipment safely
Work safely inside or outside, including extreme weather
Apply welding quality assurance, code knowledge, and careful documentation skills within Alstar Group’s Calgary fabrication shop.
