Support meal preparation at Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene, using kitchen equipment and food safety practices. This permanent role requires diverse shifts.
As a Food Service Helper, you will prepare meals for inmates and maintain a safe, clean kitchen. The Ontario Public Service role includes diverse menus, dietary needs, volume cooking, and institutional food service. You will supervise inmate helpers for most working time, with appropriate training provided.
Key Responsibilities: Support cook-chill and re-thermalization of food
Maintain and sanitize kitchen equipment
Store ingredients, equipment, and dishware safely
Coordinate meal deliveries and complete incoming goods documents
Guide inmate helpers and report their conduct
Requirements: Food Handler Certificate
First Aid and Heartsaver Certificates
Experience preparing snacks and meals with kitchen equipment
Knowledge of lifestyle, medical, and religious diets
Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
Bring food preparation, sanitation, dietary knowledge, and supervision skills to Central North Correctional Centre’s food service team.
