Diagnose CNG and diesel engines as a Heavy Equipment Technician with GFL Environmental in Coquitlam, BC, working Monday through Friday days.
This Heavy Equipment Technician repairs and maintains commercial diesel and alternative fuel trucks and heavy equipment. The work supports secure operation across GFL Environmental’s fleet. The position includes advanced electrical and hydraulic systems, preventive maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic software.
Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair CNG and diesel engines
Maintain electrical and hydraulic systems
Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
Document parts usage and repair times
Mentor apprentices through training and apprenticeship programs
Requirements: Journeyman designation
Valid driver’s license
Own tools and willingness to acquire required tools
Red Seal preferred
Ability to perform CVIP inspections
Bring diagnostic, repair, inspection, and maintenance expertise to GFL Environmental’s commercial fleet in Coquitlam.
