Help maintain senior housing as an on-call Maintenance Assistant with AVENS–A Community for Seniors. Apply landscaping and preventative maintenance skills.
This casual position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and covers full-time replacements. Work takes place at AVEN Manor, AVEN Cottages, and independent housing, supporting general labour, repairs, painting, landscaping, equipment checks, and preventative maintenance. Candidates may bring related education or training, with preference for plumbing, mechanical, and electrical preparation. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain AVENS housing through general labour assistance
Support repairs and painting throughout assigned properties




Complete landscaping tasks in outdoor areas
Inspect equipment and support preventative maintenance
Work independently during casual replacement coverage
Requirements: Related maintenance education or training preferred
Plumbing, mechanical, or electrical knowledge preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work outdoors for long periods
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
