Use hands-on repair skills across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems at BC Hydro’s Surrey Campus with Black & McDonald. The onsite assignment supports dependable facilities service.
This Facilities Maintenance Technician performs light preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, inspections, and service-call response. You will assist the Facility Manager, coordinate suppliers, and maintain customer and vendor relationships. Work is recorded through JDE and the computerized maintenance management system.
Key Responsibilities: Attend service calls and initiate corrective repair work orders
Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and services
Assist supplier technicians, mechanics, and maintenance activities




Request supplier quotes and monitor construction schedules
Review completed work and proactively correct deficiencies
Requirements: Three to five years mechanical, electrical, or facilities experience
Experience performing maintenance and repair tasks
Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems knowledge
Robust problem-solving and time-management skills
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Bring practical building systems knowledge and corrective repair experience to support Black & McDonald facilities operations in Surrey.
