Support winter road maintenance across Zones 12, 13, and 17 as a Spare Equipment Operator. Work may be available at three Halifax East bases.
Public Works is seeking operators for Spry Bay, Middle Musquodoboit, and Chezzetcook. The position includes paid training and 45 hours of supervised plowing experience. Employees are called in as operational needs require, with additional winter work potentially available.
Key Responsibilities: Remove snow using plows, graders, and loaders
Conduct general maintenance on assigned equipment
Inspect equipment before and after each trip
Record operational details in required daily logs
Perform other zone duties when required
Requirements: Two years of experience or acceptable equivalent experience
Minimum Class III licence and air brake endorsement
Reading and writing skills for required documentation
Flexibility when responding to operational requirements
Respectful approach to customer service and traffic conditions
Use your Class III licence, mechanical awareness, and snow removal experience to maintain roads across Halifax East zones.
