This fully on-site internship offers qualified growth for students interested in insurance or reinsurance. You will assist experienced underwriters while learning business units and underwriting philosophy. Development includes executive leader sessions, leadership learning, networking activities, and a presentation to your manager and mentor.
Key Responsibilities: Learn through daily North America Underwriting team activities
Assist with exposure and operational analysis
Develop renewal lists alongside Underwriting Assistants
Contact brokers regarding insurance submissions
Participate in networking and leadership activities
Requirements: Remain enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate program
Be enrolled for the internship’s full duration
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Communicate ideas clearly in writing and verbally
Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Bring curiosity, clear communication, and data analytical skills to Sompo’s Toronto insurance underwriting development program.
