This temporary 12-month Personal Lines Underwriter position serves as a technical expert within the Underwriting operation. You will analyze specialized information, make quality decisions, and support established policies, processes, and standards. The work includes developing insurance solutions, resolving complex technical problems, and improving methods.
Key Responsibilities: Assess risks for prevention, acceptance, or refusal
Provide expertise on complex underwriting projects and issues
Develop solutions for risks and underwriting files
Conduct specialized research, studies, and technical analyses
Support stakeholders using standards, processes, tools, and systems
Requirements: College diploma in a related field
At least three years of relevant experience
Call center experience with insurance agent experience
Advanced knowledge of PCS and VENT
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications
Use risk assessment, technical analysis, and decision quality to support Desjardins personal lines underwriting operations.
