EHN Canada prides themselves on providing both excellent and accessible care to all Canadians.

Be part of the work that’s changing lives.

Overview
We are looking for a hands-on leader to drive EHN’s order-to-cash transformation and the change management that comes with it. You will redesign how EHN bills and recognizes revenue, connecting clinical data from KIPU, commercial agreements from Salesforce CPQ, and NetSuite billing and Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), so that invoices and revenue follow the care we actually deliver. You will coordinate our NetSuite and Salesforce partners and guide the team through new processes.

The Senior Manager of Accounting continues to lead day-to-day AR operations, and the two roles work closely together throughout. You will also work closely with the Controller. As the new processes are established over about the first 12 months, this role takes on leadership of the redesigned order-to-cash function, owning its performance, controls and continuous improvement.

This role suits someone who has both designed a better process and run it day to day, and who wants to leave a function stronger and less dependent on any one person than they found it.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the order-to-cash transformation

Manage day-to-day delivery of the transformation roadmap: plan, budget, risks, issues and status reporting to the Controller and finance leadership

Lead the redesign of billing and revenue recognition around sales orders, billing schedules and NetSuite ARM, with revenue driven by actual days and sessions of care

Direct an interim flat-file approach that generates sales orders and days of care from Snowflake, then guide its evolution into a full KIPU, Salesforce CPQ and NetSuite integration

Coordinate NetSuite system experts, Salesforce CPQ consultants and EHN’s data and IT teams, holding them to EHN’s design and ensuring knowledge transfer

Lead sandbox testing, historical replays and parallel runs, and prepare go-live recommendations against pre-agreed pass/fail criteria for the Controller’s approval

Co-own, with the CPQ team, a single product and item catalog for programs, bundles and services

Own order-to-cash performance as new processes go live

As each process goes live, take on leadership of billing, cash application, collections, credits and refunds across private pay, corporate, insurance and government payers

Set and track KPIs such as days sales outstanding, aged AR, credit memo rate, unapplied cash, billing lag and completeness of billing

Reduce aged and unapplied balances and establish a sound approach to the allowance for doubtful accounts

Build documented billing rules, runbooks and cross-training so no part of the process depends on a single person

Strengthen controls and support audits

Design and implement segregation of duties across billing, cash application and adjustments, for the Controller’s approval

Introduce approval workflows for credit memos, refunds, write-offs and manual journals

Own monthly reconciliations, including AR to general ledger and KIPU census to recognized revenue

Support the Controller with external auditors on revenue and receivables, preparing analysis and recommendations on recognition and allocation approaches

Protect patient health information in billing processes and data transfers, in line with Canadian privacy legislation

Lead and develop the team

Lead change management for the AR team, working closely with the Senior Manager of Accounting, who leads day-to-day AR operations

Help shape the future organization, including revenue cycle analysis, billing specialists by payer stream, cash application and collections

Coach the team as their work shifts from manual billing decisions to exception management and analysis

Partner across the organization

Work with Admissions, Intake and clinical operations to improve the quality of payer and program data captured at admission

Partner with Sales and the CPQ team on financial agreements, pricing and discount controls

Work with FP&A; and the data team on revenue and AR reporting

What success looks like
In your first 90 days, you will:

Understand the current billing process, payer mix and team, and confirm baseline KPIs

Have approval workflows and an independent review of credits and refunds in place

Have agreed the joint product and item catalog direction with the CPQ team

Have completed the NetSuite ARM sandbox test with our NetSuite partners and drafted pass/fail criteria for review by the Controller and auditors

Have a working governance rhythm with NetSuite and Salesforce partners

In your first 12 months, you will have:

Taken the first payer stream live on sales orders, billing schedules and ARM, then rolled out the remaining streams

Eliminated zero-dollar reclass invoices and materially reduced credit memo volume

Established monthly completeness and revenue reconciliations that auditors can rely on

Reduced aged AR and unapplied cash against agreed targets

Put in place a documented, cross-trained process and a team structure that separates billing, cash application and collections

Job Qualifications
Required

Degree in accounting, finance or business; CPA designation (CPA Canada) preferred or in progress

5 or more years in accounts receivable, billing,

revenue accounting or order-to-cash, including experience leading or supervising a team

Hands-on involvement in at least one billing, revenue recognition or ERP implementation from design through go-live

Strong hands-on NetSuite experience, including sales orders, billing schedules, invoicing and CSV imports

Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles (ASPE Section 3400 or IFRS 15)

Experience with AR controls, reconciliations and supporting external audits

Experience coordinating consultants or system partners against a plan and timeline

Comfort working with data: building reconciliations, defining KPIs and specifying data requirements for technical teams

Clear communicator who can explain billing and accounting issues to clinical, sales and finance audiences

Preferred

NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) implementation experience

Experience with Salesforce CPQ and quote-to-cash integration between Salesforce and an ERP

Healthcare, treatment or multi-payer billing experience, ideally with Canadian extended health insurers, workers’ compensation boards or Veterans Affairs Canada

Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as KIPU, or with clinical data used for billing

Working knowledge of SQL or a data warehouse such as Snowflake

Change management or project management training (for example, Prosci or PMP)

Knowledge of Canadian privacy legislation such as PHIPA and PIPEDA

Bilingual English and French, given our Quebec operations

What we offer

A high-impact role working in close partnership with the Controller and finance leadership

The chance to build a modern order-to-cash function in an organization whose work changes lives

Hybrid working from Toronto, with occasional travel to EHN facilities
