Apply building maintenance expertise at SMCDSB Facilities Services in Barrie, repairing plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and structural components. This full-time schedule runs Monday to Friday.
The Building Maintenance Lead Hand works under the Supervisor of Facilities Operations and Maintenance across all Board buildings. The position installs, repairs, and maintains structural, cosmetic, and built-in components and equipment. It also supports plumbing systems and limited-scope electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Install, repair, and maintain building components and equipment
Maintain, repair, and install plumbing pipes and fixtures
Perform limited-scope electrical equipment maintenance
Follow Board policies, regulations, codes,



and best practices
Work safely and effectively across Board buildings
Requirements: Secondary School Diploma
One to three years of related experience
Plumbing, carpentry, and minor electrical repair experience
Valid Ontario G license with clean abstract
First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
Bring practical maintenance, plumbing, and repair experience to SMCDSB facilities while supporting protected, effective building operations throughout Barrie.
